What story do I tell myself?
Stories are potent and powerful, they are part of life in civilization. Stories transform, thrill, and dismay. But stories can be a great way for us to identify who we are, who we have been, and how we want to be. And so we must pay close attention to the stories we tell ourselves.
We can tell stories in many ways: funny stories, sad stories, or horror stories. With wars or happy endings. And we tell ourselves so many stories that it is even difficult not to tell ourselves a story.
Therefore, the stories we tell ourselves about the various circumstances we go through can help us to realize a little more about our personality and the way we lead our lives, in a positive or negative way, for example. This will impact the way we will perceive the solutions and challenges we face or the opportunities we find around us. If we live in a story where we are often the victims of our contexts, we will certainly have much less opportunity to change, since nothing is within our reach. But if we are the heroes of our daily lives, we will indeed have more opportunities to act for our own benefit in this same daily life in which we are inserted.
Therefore, paying attention to our daily narratives will be of great benefit to face past actions in a constructive way and create a future that we will be proud of when we look back at the story we live.
So what story are you telling yourself every day?
